Influence of mycorrhizal preparation on seedling growth and Armillaria infestation

The influence of three types treatment on seedling survival percentage, growth and Armillaria infestation Fagus sylvatica L. (FAGUS), Abies alba Mill. (ABIES) Picea abies (L.) H. Karst. (PICEA) seedlings were tested in this study: (i) inoculation with the Ectovit® preparation containing ectomycorrhizal fungi (INOCUL), (ii) + Conavit® fertilizer (INOCUL FERTILIZ) (iii) untreated group (CONTROL). selected sample contained 100 per each tree species type (900 total). Besides that, 18 months after planting, 10 living (90 total) sampled to evaluate root dry mass infestation. data statistically evaluated by frequency analysis, analysis variance Kruskal-Wallis test. overall percentage was very low, probably due extreme drought high temperatures, significantly lower results for ABIES INOCUL FERTILIZ PICEA groups. All characteristics (seedling height increment, collar diameter shoot weight, mass) higher seedlings. Root increment showed significant differences within inconsistent results. detected only CONTROL as rhizomorphs identified A. ostoyae. suggest that artificial mycorrhizal can be an efficient method preventing infestation, especially spruce
